Injust India and Caste India is a reality

The Delhi gang-rape case four convicts were sentenced death penalty on Friday within relatively of nine months after the crime was committed. Victim’s parents cried “our daughter finally got justice.” The fast-track court is welcomed and justices by judiciary. But what about the long awaited thousands of thousands such cases who are equally dreadful or more but ignored as they did not got media attention and public roaring on that magnitude to hold the justice from India’s blind jurisprudence?

According to fact-finding reports of atrocities against SC/ST has found that every week one Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe person was murdered and one was raped brutally in 2011 and 2012.

Is the equal law and equal speed of delivery of justice run in the country for all Indians?

As the additional Sessions judge Yogesh Khanna in Delhi high court verdict “death to all” in the Delhi rape case, why not equal justice performed to the crime against minorities, Dalits and backward classes?

In April, Chief Justice of India Altamas Kabir said “The next day when ‘Nirbhaya’ died, the newspaper headlines screamed in outrage against the incident. But at the same day, the news of gang-rape of a 10-year old Dalit and who was burnt subsequently was tucked away in the inside pages devoting only five to ten lines.” Delhi gang-rape incident on was not “unique”, but one among many.

Every alternative day gangrape, unnatural offences, attempt to murder, dacoity , trafficking ,kidnapping or abducting in order to murder happened against Dalits and criminals releases freed unpunished for decades!

Despite of special SC and ST Prevention of Atrocities Act, Dalits were endlessly discriminating on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex and India’s dysfunctional legal system similarly kept waiting them for justice.

I think the purpose of this article and this website in general is to spread pro SC/ST propaganda and to spread hatred against other castes. Higher castes have been oppressing in India for centuries, there is no question about that. But people like you (the author of this piece) and many politicians are no saints either. More than the welfare of poor and underprivileged your agenda is to politicize every big and small caste or even non-caste issue (like selections in Indian cricket team and MS Dhoni being a captain because he is supposedly a brahmin). Anyhow, I do not think that lack of attention or justice for rape and other atrocities on SC/ST people is ONLY because they are SC/ST. It happens with a brahmin too if she is poor! The ‘Nirbhaya’ case was not given justice because she was upper caste ( you are assuming her caste here anyway, may be she was an SC/ST!!) but because NGOs, politicians and media saw an opportunity to swing public opinion. If the rape had been less violent and the girl had survived, it would not have gotten so much public angst. It would have been treated like any other gang-rape in this country. Poor are poor anywhere in the world. They have no caste or creed. So stop politicizing issues. You are not doing good to anyone but by just being another conniving politician.

In Khairlangi case also, NGOs, politicians and media saw an opportunity to swing public opinion although late still not able delivered proper justice.
