NCERT rejects Thorat Committee Report; suggests India is ok with caste-virus !

With an expert panel rejecting the SK Thorat committee’s recommendations for large scale deletion of cartoons of politicians from school textbooks, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is likely to do away with only two illustrations from political science texts for classes IX to XII.

Explaining why the panel will need some more time to draft a formal response, NMC member Zoya Hasan said decisions cannot be taken “instantaneously” as they relate to textbook materials. “You have to respect the public debate…but by and large it was felt there are many inadequacies in the report,” she said.

“At a personal level, I feel there are a number of problems with the panel report. It has not really given convincing reasons for the deletion of the cartoons and I think it has not done justice to the complexities of the issues under discussion,” Hasan said.

An official NCERT statement said that it would prepare a formal response to Thorat committee report. “Keeping in mind the public debate on some cartoons in the political science textbooks it was decided that the textbook development committees concerned would work with director, NCERT, and make whatever changes are required,” it stated.

Such a garb is generated in the name of NCERT Research Content, superstitions right from Vedic pratices to Gandhi lore are so much highligted..Whose India is this? Does it belong to 5% Elite Upper caste only..
Why don’t NCERT team  look into targetting social evils such as Caste, dowry, feudalism… instead playing on other side and maligning the Democratic institutions and father of Modern India!

This is true caste psyche, as pervert as it is to neglect social inequity; pretending to belive in  open dialogues and spirit of inquiry  albeit when it comes hard realities, they fear pulling  into subjects such as Exclusion in public space; May be beacause Brahmins(Sibbal)  and Ashrafs (Hasan) are party to it….One cannot hide their crime when one abuse using “untouchable”caste names, offensive language against reservation, etc; here these intellectuals tried to promote literature which encourage caste hatred against “untouchables”, they say it is their “freedom of expression” and “innovative pedagogy”.

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar proclaimed:‘On the 26th of January, we are going to enter a life of contradiction. In politics we will have equality and in social and economic life we will have inequality. In politics we will be recognizing the principle of one man one vote value. In our social and economic life, we shall, by reason of our social and economic structure, continue to deny the principle of one man one value. How long shall we continue to live this life of contradictions? How long shall we continue to deny equality in our social and economic life? If we continue to deny it for long, we do so only by putting our political democracy in peril.’(Source: Constituent Assembly Debate, Vol. X, Official Report (New Delhi), 1989, p. 979)
