Burmese Revolution: Pune on Candle March


Concerned people from all over the world are arranging marches on 6th October 2007 to show solidarity and support for the democratic movement in Burma. The Forum for Solidarity for People of Burma, FSPB, Pune, is arranging a peace march, silent meditation and Buddhist chanting on 6th October 2007. Similar events can be organised in different places to show support and solidarity for brothers and sisters in Burma and also to condemn silence of Government of India, when the other countries are taking firm stand. Following is information on the peace march in Pune. Please send this information to as many people as possible. For any further details and clarification, please contact the conveyors-

Forum for Solidarity for People of Burma (Pune)


The FSPB, Pune is arranging a peaceful candle march to indicate support and solidarity to the people of Burma who are trying to bring peace and democracy in Burma. We also condemn the atrocities committed by the Military Junta on the people, Buddhist monks and peace activists in Burma.

As concerned citizens of the largest democratic country in the world, we support peaceful democratic movement in Burma and implore the Indian Government to support the Pro-democracy movement in Burma. We are holding a peace march on 6th October 2007. The march will start from MG Road and will culminate into a peaceful gathering at Ambedkar Statue square. The march will begin at 6.00 pm. The peaceful march will end with silent sitting and chanting.

    International Bloggers’ Day for Burma on the 4th of October

    International bloggers are preparing an action to support the peaceful revolution in Burma. We want to set a sign for freedom and show our sympathy for these people who are fighting their cruel regime without weapons. These Bloggers are planning to refrain from posting to their blogs on October 4 and just put up one Banner then, underlined with the words „Free Burma!“.
