Des Raj of Nangal Karar Khan village alleged that five applicants of his village (all of them Scheduled Caste), including Amrik Singh, Lal Chand, Swarni and Amandeep, besides him, had deposited Rs 1,040 each for getting a domestic electricity connection for their houses on August 1, 2006. However, their wait for a connection is still far from over. Amadeep’s wife Narinder Kaur said whenever she visited the PSEB officials, they made derogatory remarks against them, saying that power was free for SC families and there was no need to sanction connections to them.

On listening to the complaint, Assistant Commissioner (Grievances) Kuldeep Singh immediately marked the case to PSEB XEN M.L. Ahir, who was also present at the sangat darshan.Ahir said if the PSEB officials were found guilty, action will be taken against them. Kuldeep Singh said he will check the entire matter thoroughly and no one will be spared for any wrongdoing.
