Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi led a battery of political leaders to pay floral tributes at his statue in the parliament house complex.Several cultural programmes were organised across the nation to remember the great leader.

Many thousands of people took out processions in the national capital, the state capitals and major cities to pay respect to the father of Indian Constitution, who had fought all his life to strengthen the roots of social democracy in Indian. He was tallest of the tall and fittest of the fit in all spheres of life; still devoted complete life for suffering masses. Eventually he is refered as `BABASAHEB’ (Father Lord). Portraits of Babasaheb Ambedkar were seen placed at many places in towns and people were seen garlanding them.

Our reports confirm that million cities like Nagpur, Manglore, Agra, Pune, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Banglore, Delhi, Madras, Ludhiyana, Bhopal and at more than 50 cities the event is going to be celebrated as Five-day festival. Dr Ambedkar`s personality in India has got unique status whose brith aniversary is celebrated by people themselves on unimaginable scale in urban and rural India simultaneously. This is sheerly because his life brought meaning to millions in de-graded Indian society through peaceful revolution. He is even portraited as modern Buddha by some scholars and practitioners.
